Note: Dwelt in London, Ontario previous to 1873; then moved to Goderich, Ontario. (Homer, p328). In 2007, my wife and I visited a cemetery in Minnedosa, Manitoba and quite accidentally found a headstone with the following inscription: "William Myers Hilliard 1824 - 1915; his wife Almeda Aylsworth Hilliard 1838 - 1890." This is almost certainly the same couple as was referred to by Homer, on page 328. Please see my notes under "WELLWOOD, Rev. J. W., presumed son of William Wellwood" for my interpretation of the possible relevance of this finding for our understanding of the history of the relationship between the Wellwood family and the Aylsworth family. Nearby in the same cemetery in Minnedosa, I also saw the following headstones, and have entered this data into this family tree: 1) Headstone which reads: "William Aylsworth Hilliard 1876 - 1957." I assume this was son of William Myers Hilliard and Almeda Aylsworth. 2) Headstone: "Grace Hilliard 1884 - 1957" I assume this was sister of William Aylsworth Hilliard. 3) Headstone: "Mildred L. Hilliard, wife of J. Frank Boyd, who died March 15, 1895, aged 35 years." This indicates that Mildred was born about 1860. It seem probable that she was a sister of William Myers Hilliard, rather than his daughter
