a. Note:   Notice of the history and death of Ida Belle Hardy, from the Thamesville Herald, Thamesville Ontario, June 10, 1937: "Mrs. Charles McGaffey: After an illness of several months the death occurred at her home on Victoria street of Ida Belle Hardy, wife of Charles McGaffey, on Saturday, June 5th. The deceased was a daughter of the late Abraham Hardy and Eliza Black and was born in Thamesville fifty-seven years ago and lived her life in the village. She was a member of St. James' Presbyterian church and served in the choir and other church organizations while her health permitted. She is survived by her husband, also one brother, John Hardy of Thamesville. The funeral took place Monday, afternoon at two o'clock, services being held at her late residence, conducted by Rev. L. W. Diehl, and interment was made in the Mayhew Cemetery. The pallbearers were: Robt. Switzer, Geo. Pavey, Wilfred Filby, Albert Hughson, Jno. Daugherty and John McEachren."
