Notes
a. Note:   At some time, William Perry Aylesworth married Reuzilla (or Renzilla) E. Smith in Calgary, and they had one son, Perry Oswald Smith Aylesworth, born 1921 (the same year in which Sarah Charlotte Lloyd died in Brandon, Manitoba). My father said that he and his brother, Arthur, did not know they had a half-brother until the younger Perry was about six. Clearly the families were not close. William Perry Aylesworth died in 1934, at the age of 60, and soon thereafter Reuzilla and her son left Calgary and moved back to Ontario to be with her family. My father never saw her again. [In 1934, my father would be 17 and his brother Art would be 25.]
Many years later, in 1992, when my father was 75, he learned of a letter written to a military magazine in England by a Perry Smith Aylesworth. He checked and it was his half brother, Perry!. They had not seen one anther for about 58 years. Dad and mom went to England to meet them; Perry and his wife Gladys then came to Canada. About three or four months after returning to England Perry died of a heart attack. They seemed destined to meet prior to their deaths! We see this as a truly wonderful family story.
