Note: The following notice regarding the death of Joseph Wilson was sent by Billie Wilson Hornbeek to Sam Aylesworth in June 2009: "Ingersoll Tribune, Thursday, Oct 4, 1934, Pg5, Col. 1: Following a serious illness of several months, the death occurred on Wednesday evening of Joseph Wilson, in his 91st year. Deceased was born near Kingston and when 7 years old came to this area, settling with his parents William and Elizabeth [sic, probably wrong] Wilson, on a farm near the Walter Lane farm, south of the village (Dorchester). When a young man he learned the blacksmithing trade and carried on this occupation for 20 years in Nilestown, but on account of eye trouble he retired to Dorchester Village where he has resided for the past 44 years. Mr. Wilson was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years, being the last one of the charter members of Nilestown Lodge. Five years ago Mr & Mrs Wilson celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. The funeral services were held Friday afternoon with private services at his late residence, after which a service was held in the United Church Rev. W.R. Craw [or Crew?] was in charge. Interment was made in Dorchester Union Cemetery where the Masonic Lodge took charge with Russell Lee conducting. There pallbearers were past Grand Lodge Officers being: John Morris, J.W. Young, Charles Jackson, Russell Lee, W. Wallis, George Pone. Besides his wife, who before her marriage was Eliza Ann Hayes, one son, Charles of London, and a daughter, Mrs. John Foreman of Grimsby, survive." ============= On June 19, 2010 I located the marriage record for Eliza Ann HAYES and Joseph WILSON. It states that the parents of Joseph were William Wilson and Catherine, and the parents of Eliza Ann were Matthew HAYES and his wife Ann. Although other family trees on the web indicate that this Joseph WILSON married a Stella Eliza HAYES, the marriage record I have found does NOT refer to the father of Eliza Ann as Matthew Hoyt Haynes; instead it states only that his names was Matthew. Similarly the marriage record I have found does NOT refer to the mother of Eliza Ann as Almira GIDDINGS, but identifies her only as Ann HAYES. Perhaps other researchers have mis-identified Eliza Ann HAYES with a Stella Eliza HAYES, born in Connecticut, and then identified the parents of Stella Eliza as the parents of Eliza Ann. More study is required to clarify this discrepancy between listings on the web and my own findings. (This notes written by Samuel William AYLESWORTH on June 19, 2010.) =============
