Notes
a. Note:   [Descendants of John Gottlieb Lode.FTW] The obituary for Muriel Clarke was provide by mail to Samuel William Aylesworth by Arnold Grenfeld Lloyd in November 2003. It reads as follows: "Muriel Isabella Clarke, Reg. Nurse, of RR3, Gananoque, died Monday, November 12, 1979 at the Brockville General Hospital, where she had been confined for over a year. Born at Gananoque in 1891, daughter of the late Samuel J. Clarke and Mary Ann Lloyd, she received her education at the Willowbank public and Gananoque high schools. She graduated from the Brockville General Hospital School of Nursing in 1923 receiving her Registered Nurses Certificate. She was night supervior at that hospital for several years after graduation and later worked in New York City for some time. Before her retirement in 1962 she was nurse-in-charge of second floor south at the Brockville General. She is survived by two brothers, Blake, of Brockville and Percy, of Kingston, and was predeceased by a brother W.J. Clarke of Gananoque who died in 1967. She was deeply devoted to her family and her professional career was interrupted first by a period of six years from 1916 to 1922 during which time she returned home to care for her invalid mother and again in 1943 she took care of her ailing father who required intensive care as a bed patient for five years. Surely her life was a true exemplification of the fulfilment of the First Commandment. She was a member of Grace United Church in Gananoque and the funeral service was held at the Bradley Funeral Home and Chapel on Wednesday, Nov 14 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. K. Van Allen conducting the service. The pallbearers were Alex Sliter, Albert Cowan, Donald Curtis, Bruce Clark, Jamie Galway and Ross McLean. Interment was at Willowbank Cemetary."
