Note: The following newspaper article, written after Gordon's death, was found in the papers of his father: "Services held for Gordon Parson Memorial services were held on Monday, June 12 [1978] in the Anglican Church in The Pas, Manitoba for Gordon Jens Parson. Following cremation it was Gordon's wish that he be returned to Golden for burial in the family plot. Graveside services were conducted by Rev. Dixon on Saturday, June 17 and were attended only by immediate family. Born June 14, 1928 Gordon enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy as a young lad of 17, retiring after twenty years of service as a Chief Petty Officer I. At the time of his passing, Gordon was Industrial Relations Manager at churchill Forest Products in The Pas, Manitoba. To mourn his passing are his wife Anne of The Pas, his father Cecil Parson of Golden, twin sons Ian and Eric and one daughter, Lynne of Dartmouth, N.S., his brother Norman and sister Mrs. Diane Aylesworth, both of Calgary, Alberta." ==========
