Notes
a. Note:   I once asked Grandma how she met Grandpa and she said that she had met him at a church "doings". It was a Sunday afternoon Benediction service and the young people always met together after Benediction. She saw him and asked him what he had put in his pocket and he said "a candy bar" and shared it with her.
She also said that she had helped with the fundraising to build the Hanover Church by selling rosaries.

"Mary attended school at St. Marks for one year while she helped keep the children of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Pelz, who worked at the local grocer store. Mary was 8 or 9 when her family moved to Andale. (From Hanover)
When they were married on Nove. 25, 1913, they were the second couple to get married in the sparkling new church....The family lived at Haysville for the first three years, but moved to Andale in 1917 to live on the Frank Grassl farm; they wanted to be closer to a Catholic Church and school. "
