Notes
a. Note:   In the death of O. Suttle, of 526 East ave C Hutchinson looses one of it's best citizens who has been actively associated with the best interests of the city for more than thirty years.
Obadiah Suttle was born in Putnam couty, west Virginia Nov 14 1856. He was of a family of seven children of whom two sisters and two brothers still survive.
On the sixth day of April 1887, Mr. Suttle married Victoria E. Masson. A few years later they removed to z, near a part of Finney county, Kansas, and in the fall of 1887 to Hutchinson where they have since made their home. Their five children, Mrs. J. B. Lewis, W. S. Suttle, F. T. Suttle, C. E. Suttle, and Mrs. C. P. Faubion, all of this city, remain to comfort their mother.
Mr. Suttle helped to build the first salt plant ever erected in the city and served as superintendent of same for many years. About four years ago he joined with his sons in the grocery business on East B where he took peculiar delight in being associated with them.
His many friends knew Mr. Suttle as a quiet unassuming, uncomplianing man of unempeachable character. As a father and husband he was thoughtful and indulgent, yet always holding forth a high standard of life. He with his wife, was a member of the Hadley Methodist church of this city. As a city councilman for four years he had an opportunity to express his interest in the welfare of others in a very practical way.
For several months Mr. Suttle has been in failing health, but not until the last nine weeks was he confined to his bed. His illness was of such a nature that it demanded constant care and involved great suffering, yet there was no complaining but always thoughtfulness for others rather than himself.
The funeral will be held from the home tomorrow, Friday morning, at 10 o'clock, conducted by the rev. W. T. Danner, assisted by Rev. Horace W. Cole.
