a. Note:   Obituary from the Thermopolis Independant Record, dated 8/11/1988 Thermopolis native Donnell Orwin Anderson, 74, died Friday, August 5, 1988, at Hot Spring County Memorial Hospital.
  He was born Nov 4, 1913 to Leonard and Mattie Phillips Anderson. He was graduated from Thermopolis High School in 1931. From 1933 - 1937 he served as deputy county treasurer. At age 22, he was elected country treasurer, serving until 1942. He was the last treasurer to serve a two-year term and the first to serve a four-year term here.
  On May 26, 1940, he married Flora Beer in Casper. For a short time, Donnell was employed by the Ohio Oil Company in Casper and then for Lockheed Aircraft in California.
  He served as secretary manager of the Thermopolis Chamber of Commerce in 1948 - 1949. In 1949, he became administrator of Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital, serving for 30 years. Following retirement in 1979, he worked part time for the First National Bank for five years.
  Mr. Anderson served as a Wyoming Blue Cross Blue Shield trustee for six years, served as president of the Wyoming Hospital Association from 1964 - 1965 and 1970 - 1971, and was a Wyoming Silver-Haired Legislator for four years. He was a member of the American College of Hospital Administrators.
  At the time of this death, he was board chairman of Canyon Village and a board member of the Senior Citizens Center.
  He was past member of Masons Malta Lodge #17, past commander of Mt. Lebanon Commandery #11, past high priest of Mt. Herman Chapter #12 and a Royal Arch Mason. He was a member of Bah Gue Wana Shrine and Kalif Shrine. He was also past patron of Eastern Star and a member of the Comminity Federated Church. He enjoyed golf and crossword puzzles.
  Survivors include his wife; a son, Donnell D. of Hereford, Tex; a daughter, Susan Malkuch of Sheridan; four grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth of Thermopolis; and a sister, Florence Adams of Sacramento.
  He was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard.
  Funeral services were held Aug 8 at Mortimore Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Molyneux of the Commumity Federated Church officiating. Burial was in Monument Hill Cemetery.
  Memorials may be made to the Senior Citizens Center or Eastern Star.
