Note: Obituary dated 11/3/2000 Midvale, Utah - Rose Dorothy Powers, 87, formerly of Greybull and mother of a Sheridan man, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000.
Visitation is noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Atwood Family Chapel in Greybull. Funeral Services are 10 a.m. Monday at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Basin with the Rev. Ron Lytle officiating. Graveside funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Sheridan Municipal Cemetary in Sheridan.
Mrs. Powers was born Dec. 1, 1913, in Circle City, Alaska. She married Fred E. Powers July 3, 1938, in Fiarbanks, Alaska. They lived in Circle City and operated the Northern Commercial Company Store until 1947 when they moved to Sheridan to take care of Fred's ailing mother.
She was a member of the Greybull Does Lodge #30 and Eastern Star Fern #31. She enjoyed gardening, reading and helping care for daughter Shirley Pullman's home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and sons Charles and Fred C. Powers.
Survivors include a sister, Ida Jewell of Fairbanks; two daughters, Shirley Pullman of Midvale and Alberta Johnson of Evergreen, Colorado; a son, Wilbur Powers of Sheridan; an adopted daughter, Frieda Barnett of Hamilton, Montana; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
