a. Note:   ank Powers. Her parents had come from Iowa and settled in the same vicinity of Hutchinson county as Robert and George's sister, Evaline Powers Brown, and her husband John Albert Brown.
  From her obituary: "Laura Belle Mills was born in Cass county, IA, December 3, 1875 to Mrs. and Mrs. S. W. Mills. The family came to Dakota Territory in October, 1882. They homesteaded in Hutchinson county. She attended district school and Madison Normal and later taught school for years. January 10, 1905 whe was married to George Powers at Tripp, SD. After their marriage they farmed in Lyman county for 43 years until Mr. Powers health failed and they moved to Oacoma....She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and one sister. Surviving relatives include one brother, H.C. Mills, Minneapolis, MN; and three sisters, Mrs. R. C. Trautman, Luverne, MN; Mrs. E. C. Trautman, Alhambra, CA; and Mrs. Lester Wray, Parker, SD."
