Note: Daphne Dolly Geier Powers' Obituary Daphne Geier Powers, 89, died Friday at her Grey bull residence. She lived most of her life in and around Sheridan County. Born November 22, 1896, in Cromwell, Iowas, to George E. and Ida May Davidson Geier, she moved to a ranch at Fort Phil Kearny in 1902. She married Charlie Thomas Powers on June 1, 1915. A siste, Lois Howarth, and a grandson, Bruce Powers, preceded Mrs. Powers in death. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Grover O. Powers, Tucson, Ariz., Gordon I. Powers, Loveland, Colo., and Gene A. Powers, Greybull; two sisters Merle Howarth, Buffalo, and Ruth Geier Rice, Sheridan; a brother, D.O. Geier, Sheridan; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Services are 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Champion Funeral Home with cremation to follow. Memorials may benefit First Baptist Church of Sheridan or donor's choice.
