a. Note:   reat grandpa August Julius Anderson was born in Langenhorn, Denmark (now in Germany). He came to this country with his sister but when she was killed in an industrial accident in New Jersey he joined the military. A terrible event happened in Wyoming in 1885, it is simply known as the Chinese Massacre, his unit of the 7th Infantry was shipped to Rock Springs, Wyoming. He served in that unit for ten years and met his wife, Florence Orwin, while serving there. We all called Florence, little grandma because she was quite short (just like Jackie and Judy, my cousins in California). The house that mom and dad lived in belonged to her and I still own it. I know you are familiar with that little place."
