Note: 2/02 after battling cancer. He was surrounded by his family when he died and was loved so intensely. July 4, 2002 edition of the Wyoming Tribune-Eagle John F. “Jack” Rhoades, 70, of Fort Collins, Colo., died July 2, in Fort Collins. He was born Nov. 29, 1931, in Chugwater.He was a rancher. Mr. Rhoades married Dana Horton on Oct. 11, 1997, in Las Vegas.He was in the Air National Guard and was a member of Presbyterian Church and a deacon, Kiwanis Club, past president of Broomfield Chamber of Commerce, United Way, past president of Sigma Phi Epsilon at the University of Wyoming, Telephone Pioneers of America and Cheyenne Chapter of DeMolay. He is survived by his wife, Dana Rhoades of Ft. Collins; a son, Michael Rhoades of Missoula, Mont.; three daughters, Martha Adolph of Silverthorne, Colo., Katherine Godwin of Henderson, Nev., and Margaret Anderson of Jacksonville, Fla.; step-children, Patsy Larson of Castlerock, Colo., Becky Cushatt of Abilene, Kan., and Troy Cushatt of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; a sister, Helen Landis of Denver; 19 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rich McDermott and Rev. Scott Herr officiating. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Jack Landis, Keith Miller, Virgil Jackson, Dan Jackson, Tracy Swanson and Terry Swanson.
