Notes
a. Note:   In driving around Black Creek, NY, "I drove up to the old home of Wyckoff and Betsy and we drove up Van Noy hill to where the remains of the log cabin of Peter Minor are, the farms of James and Fred Minor are on the road from Black Creek to the Wyckoff Minor farm... . If you should desire to find these farms &etc go out of Cuba on Route 305 past Cuba Lake about 2 miles to Black Creek Cemetery on right about 2 miles on to Black Creek - then take the first road (dirt) on the Left; there is about ¾ mile to Wyckoff Minor Farm past the James Minor and Fred Minor farm at the Wyckoff M. farm the road divided in a Y - Bert Baker lives in the W. M. Farm." - HP Minor letter 10/13/1957 - included map which I have.
"The seven sons of Catherine and Peter Minor all served in the Union Army during the Civil War. Two of them were killed: John C. and William [F.]" - unsigned letter, from Linda Rosenberg

"We can appreciate the pioneer spirit which prompted [William's] son Peter to migrate to the Genesee Valley but his choice of Allegany County was not as successful as his father had been, in Seneca County." - in letter from Halsey P. Minor
