Note: "J.D. is listed in the 1855 NY census as a farmer. Beer's History of Allegany Co., 1879 p. 372 gives him as Rev. J.D. Stockwell of the West Almond, Allegany Co., Baptist Church. The family believes he may belong to another branch of Stockwells as there are no family records in existence about him. Donald and Marion both comment that surely their grandmother, Harriett (Stockwell) Kellogg, would have mentioned a brother who was a minister." - The Stockwell Family
