Note: She "was born and raised on a farm near Ovid in Seneca Co., NY." Obituary, Interlaken Review, 6/10/1971: "Mrs. Nellie Travis Minor, 96, of 12 Park Ave. and 806 West Lake Road, Batavia died May 28 at Genesee Memorial Hospital, Batavia. Funeral services were from H. Turner & Co., Inc. Mortuary, Batavia Tuesday June 1 at 2:00 pm. Burial was in Grand View Cemetary, Batavia. Mrs. Minor was born in Ithaca, the son of Don and Ada Travis, and was the widow of Morris Minor. Mrs. Minor graduated from Farmer Academy in Ovid in 1903 and from Geneseo State Normal School in 1907. For a short time she taught school on Long Island. She is survived by 2 sons, David and John, both of Batavia and one daughter, Mrs. Helen Carpenter of Lansing, MI; 9 grandshildren and 6 great-grandchildren." Interlaken Review: 1/15/1904: "The class '03 of Farmer Academy met at Alice M. Slaght's Dec. 30, 1903, and formed an Alumni Fraternity. A constitution was drafted and adopted and the following officers elected: Pres., J. Clark Bills; Treas. and Sec, Nellie B. Travis." 12/30/1904: "Miss Nellie Travis is spending her vacation with her parents at Ovid Center."
