"In 1879 Haley P. Minor was born in the same bedroom where his mother was born before him on N. Main St. of Interlaken NY. When he was about 17 he peddled groceries for his father's store via horse and wagon. Eggs and butter were usually bartered for the groceries. In 1904 he went to New York City to learn the plumbing trade and opened H.P. Minor Hardware Store in Interlaken. When he was 38 he closed the store so that he could serve his country by fighting in the first world war. After the war the store was reopened and his plumbing and tinsmithing business resumed. When electricity was made available in the area, Haley did a land office business in house wiring. At 71, he retired from active business but remained physically active hunting, fishing, & traveling. He wrote a booklet on "History and Legends of Kidders Ferry" and has played an important part in documenting the history of the whole area. He was married three times but never had any children." - from an unsigned letter

Between the Lakes, article So as By Fire, by Nelle D Bradley 1/1952 mentions the porch roof at Minor Hardware store implying it still existed then.
"Mr. Wyckoff Minor of this place, entertaned quite a good many of his relatives last week. A brother, Mr. P.W. Minor of Springville, Erie Co., and two nephews, Masters Halsey and Henry Minor of Farmer, Seneca Co., and also a niece, Miss Alice Minor of the same place, and his sister, Mrs. I. T. Brown [should be JT Brown] of Angelica. Mr. P.W. Minor brought a lovely pony to his nephews as a present." - Cuba NY Patriot 1894-11, Clover Leaf Valley News
