Note: Obit 12/15/1930: "The people of the community were greatly saddened this week when news reched here of the death of Mrs. Besse Minor Rabey, December 15th, at Southern Pines, NC, after an illness of several weeks. "She was born at Auburn, January 24th, 1881, the daughter of A.V. and Mary P. Minor, and nearly all her life was spent in this village. On August 11th, 1927, she was united in marriage to Mr. George Rabey, and about two years ago they took up their residence at Southern Pines, where her death occurred. "Left to mourn her passing is her husband, George Rabey, and three brothers, H.P. Minor, of Interlaken, Hanry H. Minor and Morris E. Minor, both of Batavia... "Interment at Lake View Cemetery" Obit: "Mrs. Bess Rabey dies Monday Morning Dec.: The death of Mrs. Bess Rabey, wife of Mr. George Rabey occurred Monday morning at her new home on Ashe Street... she will be buried at Interlaken, NY. Mrs. Rabey was forty-nine years old and wife of a retired WW veteran. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Rabey, before her marriage was Miss Bess Minor, and is survived by her husband George Rabey and several brothers." "Bess W. Minor was born Jan. 24, 1881 in Interlaken. She went to school there and remained a spinster most of her life. She sold damaged shoes in her home there, which her brothers sent her from the P.W. Minor factory in Batavia. She corresponded with George Rabey, a veteran of World War I, for many years, and married him a few years before her death. They lived in Southern Pines, North Carolina, where she died Dec. 15, 1929." - from a handwritten unsigned letter Interlaken Review: 6/12/1903: she had an operation for appendicitis. 7/17/1903: " Mrs. A.V. Minor returned home from Rochester, Wednesday, and reports her daughter, Miss Bessie, improving rapidly." Ithaca Daily News 6/19/1917: "Miss Bessie Minor is visiting her brothers in Binghampton."
