Note: Obit: "Adelia M. Carr, daughter of William A. and Jane (Griffen) Tanner, was born in Hector, May 5th, 1855, and was married November 25th, 1873 to James G. Carr, of Hector. After two years of pain and suffering she in obedience to the Master's call passed on to her home above... Friday, July 10th at 3:20 p.m. 1914. "From childhood she manifested a cheerful disposition and a pleasing personality which won her many friends. In early life she gave her heart to God and a few days after her marriage she united with the Clymer Baptist Church. In 1888 she with her husband removed to Harrison Valley and a little later she united with the Harrison Baptist Church in this place, with which she continued her membership until her death. She was a teacher in the Bible school for 23 years and for 21 years she was secretary and treasurer, having made out each order for supplies and each report except the last one before her death. All of her services for the church were marked by untiring faithfulness and devotion, it bing her highest ambition to honor God. Her home was made sacred by her unselfish ministry and it could be truly said, 'The heart of her husband trusteth in her,' and 'Her children rise up and call her blessed.' "The funeral was held...etc, the most beatiful tribute being 'Gates Ajar' with the word 'Mother' being contributed by her children. The church and Sunday School will purchase an urn for the grave in token of loving remembrance. "Though the community has lost one of its most noble Christian women, she will live long in the memory of all who knew her. The bereaved husband and family have the deepest sympathy of the entire community."
