Notes
a. Note:   "About this time [1867] Aunt Sarah Minor, later Sarah Brown, came here [Minor Brothers Shoe Factory in Interlaken, NY] and worked in the factory, until they moved to Springville [1890]." HP Minor letter 9/14/1957
"I have driven out nearly every year as long as Aunt Sarah Brown was alive, as when we were small Aunt Sarah was in Interlaken and took care of us, and good care, so we were pleased to be with her, at that time she worked in Minor Bros shoe factory. Laura and I stopped at Angelica, her old house and store was in bad repair." - HP Minor letter 10/13/1957
I found a pair of buildings on the 1869 atlas for Angelica village labeled "J T Brown" on the north side of Main St. almost opposite Olean St., to the right of the hotel. I visited Angelica 7/2011 and found both hotel and the Brown store are still there. Took photos. There is a house to the right of the store, but it's not clear whether it's the Brown house or the neighboring one; not being L-shaped, and being too far away, I suspect the latter. Angelica is a very nice village. - Tina
