a. Note:   Fannie was an excellent cook, as reported by her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She also made the Communion bread (thin, unleavened, unsalted bread, cut into little squares, and broken) for New Ebenezer Baptist Church in Curtis Community.
  She was also an excellent seamstress. During World War II, she would make fashion suits for women from used men's suits. She made dresses for several prominent women in Opp and Elba, and taught her grand daughters how to sew on her old treadle sewing machine.
