Note: John Sr. deeded land to John Jr. 8 May 1683 and the inventory of the estate of John Jr. was filed on 9 May 1684. This deed of John Sr. to his son is interesting (Branford, Vol. 2, Page 52): "Know all men by these presents that I, John Linley Senr. of Branford in the County of New Haven in the Collony of Connecticott (for and in consideration of thirty pounds and other goog causes and considerations we hereunto moving) have sold and by these presents do sell, alienate, and make over unto my son, John Linley, of the aforesaid towne, countye and collony one parcell of meadow lying and being neer unton mulliners neck (commonly so called) and on the westerne side of the highway, being two acres more or less as it is bounded on the west and on the north by upland and on the south by the sea and on the east by a creek and a ditch and with the stump of a tree at the end of the ditch.
