Noah graduated from Yale in 1791, was tutor there 1794-5, afterward studied law at Litchfield Law School, went to Morgantown, Va. in 1797 for two years, then to Wheeling, W. Va., Academy, now the Linsley Institute. In his will he left a large sum of money to Tale College. This was later increased by his nephew, Dr. Jared Linsley, which now constitutes the "Noah and Jared Linsley Fund" devoted to the Yale Library.
