a. Note:   He graduated Yale in 1810, took up the study of Theology, and was licensed to preach Oct. 1812 by the Litchfield South Association of Ministers. He was ordained and installed on 19 Jul 1815 as pastor of the Congregational Church of East Hartland, Hartford Co., CT, where he remained until 1835. During the next two years he preached in Wolcott and Prospect. He resided in North Haven from 1839 to 1855, preaching and teaching. He moved to New Haven in 1855 and returned to North Branford in 1857 back to New Haven in 1859
