a. Note:   N26 Antonio left the The Azores, Portugal in the year 1861 and for three years was on an American whaling ship. He took another whaling trip for three years in the Indian Ocean. He then came to America and settled in the state of California where he was married and lived for a few years, after which he and his wife and two sons went to Nevada. he was employed there for some time in the silver mines. Later, he moved with his family to New Mexico where his wife died. He then took up his residence in Arizona for several years, where a son died. In September 1914, he came to Crete to spend his declining years with his brother, Caetano Marcelino. He leaves to mourn his loss, one son in Brazil and an only brother, Caetano Marcelino, of Crete.
