Note: N274 The existence of this Thomas is dubious and disputed. He is not mentioned with brothers William, David and Nicholas in a 1714 deed nor in the 1721 will of his cousin Francis Clements, which listed all the (known) living children of Nicholas Meriwether.
This Thomas is also said to have had a son named Nicholas; no record of either has ever been found.
