a. Note:   N10813 She is said by some to be the daughter of Col. Robert Lewis and Jane Meriwether and therefore the widow of Thomas Meriwether. NHM considers this unlikely.
  However, since a number of the grandchildren of John and Jane have "Meriwether" as part of their name and there is no other known Meriwether connection, I have linked John to two Jane Lewises, one without known parents, the other the daughter of Robert & Jane.
  Finally, even if she is Jane, daughter of Robert Lewis & Jane Meriwether, it is questionable that she was the mother of any of the children of John. Data indicate all of John’s children were born while it is known that Jane was still married to Thomas.
