a. Note:   N11403 While Richard and Dorothea Johnson did have a daughter named Elizabeth, it is not yet proven by TMSI that she became the wife of Nicholas Meriwether Syme. Additional research is needed and help appreciated.
  In his 1841 genealogy of the Cochran(e) family, Dr. William Cochran (8 Dec 1779 - 19 Aug 1853) stated that Elizabeth was the aunt of Chapman Johnson and that she and Nicholas had several children.
