 (Research):Note: I have in my possession a letter from the Central Chancery Of The Orders Of Knighthood from St. James Palace S. W. 1 that was given to my Great Grandfather on January 5 1942.
 The letter goes like this:

  I am commanded to forward the Imperial Service Medal which His Majesty The King has been graciously pleased to award to you in recognition of the meritorious services which you have rendered.
