Robert Palmer Cox (Watkins, William, Bathsheba, Quinton) was born on February 11, 1885. He has not been located in the 1910 census. On ___________ (before 1915), he married Alma Irene Coy. They and their children were listed with his father, Watkins N. Cox [482], in the 1920 census of Magisterial District No. 3, Hopkins Co., Ky. He died on December 2, 1982 in Louisville, Ky. and is buried in Browder Cemetery. The Madisonville Messenger contained the following obituary on December 3, 1982:
Robert Cox
Robert P. Cox, 97, formerly of Anton, died 9 a.m. Thursday in Louisville.
He was the son of the late W. N. and Jennie Niblick Cox.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Elsie Beeler, Louisville; two sons, Dr. Robert Palmer Cox, Jr., Whittier, Ca., and Vernon Niblick Cox, Louisville; one sister, Miss Nell Ann Cox, Madisonville; one brother, Rev. Frank Cox, Louisville; nine grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home, with Rev. Thomas Grieb officiating. Burial will be in Browder Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and Saturday until the funeral hour.
Robert P. Cox had three children: Robert, Vernon, and Elsie.
