According to the Death Certificate issue to Mary Cushing her parents were John Dahill,and Margaret Hayes, both of whom were born in Ireland. Mary Dahill died September 27, 1940 at the age of 82 in South Boston, Massachusetts. She was the mother of Richard Cardinal Cushing, who was born in South Boston on August 24, 1895. Cardinal Cushing's father was Patrick Cushing, born in Ireland, a Blacksmith in South Boston, who died April 25, 1924 at the age of 63. The death Certificate Issued for Richard Cardinal Cushing indicated a date of death of November 2, 1970, in Boston at the age of 75.
Philanthropist, Cardinal. Archbishop of Boston. He presided over John F. Kennedy's wedding and funeral. He also presided over the funerals of Robert Kennedy and President Kennedy's infant children, Patrick and Arabella.
