  She was a big, regal woman who carried herself proudly. This mustmean that she had good posture.
 Betty Bettie and her daughter Blanche sang duets in church. JoMarcia says that Blanche, "the family butterfly," could not sing nearlyso well as she thought.
  Betty was paralyzed by a stroke in 1915, and spent the last 10 yearsof her life in a wheel chair. Jo Knox Marcia May 16, 1995 said that"she lived in the wheel chair."
  Jo Marcia says that Betty Bettie needed regular massages for herhealth. She was being treated in Galveston. Edna Monroe was a nurse inGalveston and was excellent at massage. Helen Knox, daughter of W. A.Knox and his paralyzed wife Betty, introduced her first cousin JohnBates Knox to the nurse, and egged them on to date. It was successful.But in 1916 Edna was offered the position of Night Supervisor of Nursesat John Sealy Hospital, and she accepted. She made John Knox wait.They were not married until October 17, 1917.
