Note: He is the third of four Herman Joekel's. Pamela Cuddeback's chart showshis birthdate as April 25, 1891.
His high school graduation diploma of 1908 is displayed in the LeeCounty Museum in Giddings.
After graduation, he attended Massey Business College. He thenworked in the Joekel and Williams general store. When that storefolded, he worked in the Grange Store.
Their two girls were born in Giddings.
He had a farm in Giddings "which wasn't too wonderful at the time,"his daughter reported.
They moved to Houston in 1922, where he worked for Gulf OilCorporation until his retirement.
He is buried in the Giddings City Cemetery.
