 Announce Wedding Date of City Girl
  Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Alston announce the engagement and approachingmarriage of their daughter, Ruth, to Mr. Henry Brownlee Smith, Jr., ofSeminole, son of Rector and Mrs. H. B. Smith, Sr. of Shawnee. Thewedding will be an event of Wednesday, June 1. The ceremony which willtake place in the lovely home of the bride's parents, will be solemnizedat 10:00 am with Rector Smith officiating.
 Only members of the immediate families and intimate friends will attend.A reception will be held following the wedding.
 Miss Alston is a graduate of Henderson State College in Arkadelphia,Arkansas where she received her Bachelor of Music degree and of theOklahoma City University where she secured her A. B. Degree.
 Mr. Smith is a graduate of the University of Alabama and will receivehis master's degree from the University of Oklahoma at Norman thissummer.
  Alston - Smith Nuptials Event of June First
  Of much interest to society was the wedding at 10 o'clock Wednesday,June 1 of Miss Ruth Alston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Alston, toMr. Henry Brownlee Smith, Jr., of Seminole, son of Reverend and Mrs. H.B. Smith, Sr. of the St. Stephens Rectory of Mt. Carmel, Pennsylvania.Reverend and Mrs. Smith are formerly of Shawnee.
 The bridal pair kneeled before the altar, which was banked withbeautiful gladiola lilies and greenery and the father of the groom, Rev.Smith read the impressive ring ceremony.
 The bride, who entered upon the arm of her father, was lovely in a floorlength gown of aqua lace, fashioned upon Empire lines with a slighttrain. Her veil of aqua net was finger-tip length and caught to herhead with a band of orange blossoms. The bridal flowers were a showerbouquet of white carnations and lilies of the valley tied with a hugebow of silk lace.
 Miss Maxine Emeric of Seminole, maid of honor, wore a beautiful frock ofpink organza and a large white hat. She carried pink sweetheart rosesand blue larkspur.
 Miss Doris Niles in blue net over satin lighted the tapers, which wereplaced in tall candelabra by the altar.
 Misses Betty Niles in blue net and Margarite Randall of Muskogee in winelace held the ribbons which formed and aisle for the bride. LittleNancy Johnson and Alexsandra White of Tulsa were charming flower girls.
 The groom was attended by Bob White of Tulsa as best man, and HarryChenault, C. B. Huddleston, John Stone young, R. J. Koch, Jr., RussellKoch and Neal Johnson as ushers.
 The wedding party entered to the strains of Lohengrin's bridal chorusplayed by Mrs. R. J. Koch, Jr.
 Mrs. Alston was gowned in a Copenhagen blue suit with self-color lacejacket, and wore a corsage of sweetheart roses. Mrs. Smith, mother ofthe groom, wore a pink chiffon taileur, and a corsage of talisman roses.
 Guests for the wedding were received by Mrs. E. C. Martin.
 The bride chose a beige silk dress and matching accessories fortraveling.
 Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held for the youngcouple, with Mr. and Mrs. Alston receiving.
 Mrs. Neal Johnson cut the wedding cake and Mrs. E. S. Martin presidedover the punch bowl. Mrs. Bill Johnson and Mrs. N.P. Lee assisted inthe rooms. Members of the wedding part served.
 About 100 guests called at 10:30 o'clock.
 After a short wedding trip Mr. and Mrs. Smith will be at home in Norman,where Mr. Smith will receive his Masters degree at the University ofOklahoma this summer. Following September 1, they will reside inSeminole, where the groom is a member of the school faculty.
 Mrs. Smith is a graduate of Henderson College in Arkadelphia, Arkansasand Oklahoma City University, where she was a member of Phi Phi Phisocial sorority.
 Mr. Smith is a graduate of the University of Alabama. He is a member ofPhi Gamma Delta fraternity and was a member of the "A" club.
