Note: 1903 - Graduated with honors from Giddings High School in 1920. Received BBAdegree from the University of Texas, where he graduated with honors. While living in a fraternity house at the University, he used to visitout front with his great-aunt Fidelia Myers Jones "Aunt Dee" Johnson1847-1929. She would often walk there for exercise. "She was quite acharacter." He then moved to Houston, and was employed in various phases of publicaccounting from 1925 to 1934. In 1934 he established the firm of Aubrey Fariss Co., which he ownedand operated until 1950. At that time, his company was merged with theinternational accounting firm of Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. From 1950 until his retirement in 1965, he has been engaged in privateconsultant work in the field of estates and trusts. "At the present time" Aubrey resides in Houston with his wife, theformer Elsie Marion Rain of Mobile, Alabama. He is a member of theHouston Chamber of Commerce Athletic Committee, a director of the AstroBluebonnet Bowl, and was one of the founders of the Houston GolfAssociation. He was a member of the committee that promoted thebuilding of the Astrodome in Houston. During the past years Fariss has been either director ar a member ofthe finance committee of the River Oaks Country Club, the Houston Club,BraeBurn Country Club, and the Petroleum Club, all of Houston. He wasPresident of the River Oaks County Club in 1958, and has been involvedin various civic and charitable foundation work. By Roy Fletcher
