a. Note:   Obituary of Margaret Drew Smith
 The sincere sympathy of the community will be extended to our respectedpost-master, Mr. T. G. Smith and family, in the death on, on Sundayevening after a long and trying illness of his loved partner in life,also held in esteem and affection by a large circle of relatives andfriends.
 Margaret Drew Smith was born in Glengarry County in 1835 and belongedto an old family of English descent who settled in Maine. The familywas divided at the time of the Revolutionary War, when her father, PaulDrew, became a United Empire Loyalist and came to Canada, locating inGlengarry. Her mother, whom many Mount Foresters remember well, was ofsturdy Scotch stock.
 In 1859 she married Mr. Smith and came to Mount Forest to live.
 A large family of six daughters and three sons was reared by them.Those able to attend the funeral were: Mrs. (Rev.) R. S. Radcliffe,Ridgeway, Pennsylvania, Mrs. (Dr.) T. D. Parke, Birmingham, Alabama,Miss Mabel Smith, Mount forrest, Mr. Drew Smith, Woodstock, Rev. H.Brownlee Smith, Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.
 The late Mrs. Smith was an earnest and devout member of the AnglicanChurch, a devoted mother and a loyal friend, whose sterling qualitieswill be missed by many.
