 Last Sunday at high noon, Mr. William Corder Alston of this cityand Miss Bertha Florence Presson of Lockesburg were united in marriage,at the home of the bride's sister in Foreman.
 The wedding was a quiet home affair, only a few friends andrelatives of the young couple being present.
 Mr. And Mrs. Alston left soon after the ceremony for Dallas, Texas, to spend a few days, after which they will be at home to their friendsin De Queen.
 The groom is one of the most popular and successful young businessmen of De Queen, being interested in and manager of the Model DrugStore. The bride is the accomplished daughter of Rev. R. A. Presson ofLockesburg, is a social favorite there and wherever known.
 Their many friends here and at Lockesburg extend heartycongratulations.
 Mrs. Effie Jones, Herbert Alston and Booker Latimer attended thenuptials from De Queen.
  From writeup of 50th Wedding Anniversary in Checotah, Oklahoma
 On Friday, january 21, 1877, at what is now DeQueen, Arkansas, Mr. andMrs. E. S. Alston were united in the holy bonds of wedlock and fornearly 40 years resided in that immediate vicinity.
 In 1917 they moved to Oklahoma, locating on a farm just west of thiscity where they continued to reside until about two years ago when theypurchased the old Dr. Watkins property in the northwest part of thecity. During their residence here they have made a large circle ofclose friends, all of whom extend congratulations in the celebration oftheir half century of married life.
 Mr. and Mrs. Alston are the parents of five children, as follows"
 Mrs. Neal Callahan, of Vicksburg, Mississippi
 E. R. Alston, of Gillham Arkansas,
 H. C. Alston of Hot Springs, Arkansas
 Irl Alston of Cushing, Oklahoma and
 W. C. Alston of this city. One other son died in infancy.
 Both Mr. and Mrs. Alston have enjoyed splendid health until a short timeago when the former underwent a serious operation.
 A family celebration was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Alstonat which all the children together with Mrs. E. R. Alston and Mrs. IrlAlston were present.
 Mr. and Mrs. Alston were the recepients of many letters and cards ofcongratulations both from their many friends here and their old hometown -- DeQueen.
