Note: Ruth's notes say 1910 which is correct according to the Obituary Another source said 1919 Obituary The funeral services over the remains of Charlie Presson were held atthe cemetery last Sunday at 4:30 o'clock, Rev. Hardin of the Methodistchurch and Elder Florence of the Christian church officiating. Notwithstanding the inclement weather large numbers of his friendsand friends of the family were in attendance, the downpour of rainpreventing none to remain at the grave until the last sad rites werecompleted which were short though impressive. Charlie Presson was born July 24, 1885 in Arkansas, and would havebeen 25 years of age in July of this year. He was until a few monthsago conected with the Smith-Lewis drug company when he and Mr. moormanpurchased the Post office news depot which they were successfullyconducting at the time of Mr. Presson's death. Always cheerful, the deceased made many friends and his courteoustreatment retained the friendship of all. At the age of fifteen hebecame a member of the Methodist church, and since that time he hasalways tried to remain faithful to the early religous teachingsinstalled in him by his parents and pastor. Three brothers, Deputy Sheriff Otis Presson, J. W. and Henry W.Presson, four sisters, Miss Maggie Presson, Mesdames W. C. Alston, G. N.Cannon and F. Hargroge and a father survive him, each of whom have thesympathy of the community in this their saddest bereavment.
