Probably the reason that she was born in California is that her fatherHall Medlin was a WagontrainMaster on several wagon trains on theCalifornia Trail. Laura Ann's wedding picture No. 6 is labeled "J.R.Ellis Studio,Giddings." Archie is not quite sure whether the Medlin's lived in Goreeor in Giddings. If Thee first met Laura Ann in Goree, it would havebeen a whirlwind courtship and marriage. She, Thee Fariss, Isaac Medlin, Jim Medlin, Lewis Medlin, RebeccaMedlin, J.Allen Mulkey and his wife Josephine Medlin, and Andrew Jonesbought land in Oklahoma in 1893. Did spinstress Rebecca Medlin actuallybuy her own land ? Thee Fariss paid $15 to a man for some land. Laura Ann died in the Community Hospital, Elk City, Oklahoma, and isburied in Evergreen Cemetery, Leedey, Oklahoma.
