Note: From Checotah Newspaper CAPTAIN ALSTON WEDS S.P.A.R. Mr. and Mrs. Justin Oakley Reynolds of 8635 104th Street, RichmondHill, Long Island, New York announce the marriage of their daughter,Frances Albertine, to Captain William Corder Alston, Jr., the son of Mr.and Mrs. William Corder Alston of Checotah, Oklahoma. The ceremoneytook place in the chapel of Central Methodist Church at Phoenix,Arizona, on February 28, 1944. Mrs. Alston, lieutenant junior grade in the coast Guard SPARS, isstationed at Raleigh, North Carolina as a recruiting officer for thatstate. Graduated from the University of Wisconsin with A. B. and M. A.Degrees in speech, Mrs. Alston was a professor of speech correction atthe State Teachers College, Eau Claire, Wisconsin, before her enlistmentin the SPARS. Captain Alston was graduated from the University of Oklahoma withB.s. and M.D. degrees. Following his internship at Emory UniveristyHospital, Atlanta, Georgia, Capt. Alston was resident in surgery at theMississippi State Charity Hospital, Vicksburg, Mississippi. Captian Alston was in private practice at Greenwood before hisenlistment in the army. Graduated from the School of aviation Medicineat Randolph Field, Texas, Captain Alston is now stationed at the ArmyAir Base, Blythe, California as squadron surgeon. Mrs. Alston is a member of Alpha Phi, a national sorority and ZetaPhi Eta, honorary speech sorority. Captian Alston is a member of theAcacia, national social fraternity, and Phi Chi, medical fraternity. After a brief trip through the west, both returned to their stationsin the armed Forces.
