Note: Thomas Murray Stockton 1894 His mother Minnie Arendal died when his youngest sister Aminda"Minnie" Stockton was only about 6 weeks old. All five children thenhad to be put out into five different family homes. His baby sister Aminda, as an infant, was taken in by Letha AnnStockton Fariss. When the mother Minnie Arendal Stockton wasterminally ill, she asked her sister-in-law Annie Stockton Fariss totake the infant girl and give her a home. Annie Stockton Farissreadily agreed, and then she walked out into the yard where the men hadgathered and were talking together. She told Ira Jones Fariss what shehad done, and asked him if it would be all right, and he said "Ofcourse." Besides Aminda getting into this stable home, Thomas Murray Stocktonwas the only other one who got to live in a regular home. He stayedwith the Peebles family in Lexington. They were relatives of MinnieArendal; Martha Arendal Peebles was a sister of Minnie Arendal. The other three girls were shifted around from pillar to post for therest of their young lives: Annie Fariss Stockton Reeves, MarthaStockton Ellis, and Elvira Patience Stockton Reat.
