Notes
a. Note:   March 9, 1809 - October 3, 1878
Milton Glenn Fariss says she was born in Virginia.
Emily Fariss Joekel Carnes' DAR application says birthdate is March 9,1809. Pamela Cuddeback and the computer Ancestral File in Salt LakeCity have her birthdate as August 12, 1809. Parke Jones has August 9,1809. Both a Bible sheet and a hand-written sheet have August 9, 1809.The Aunt Lyde notebook from Lucille Shilling to Milton G. Fariss saysAug. 9.
Some source somewhere said that she was born in N. C., but I seriouslydoubt this.
Her deathdate is Oct. 5, 1878 on an old Bible page and also on ahand-written sheet.
We know that her name was NOT Patricia.
Patsy stayed at the farm at Round Top for several years after the 1846death of Myers Fisher Jones, and then she moved to Giddings.
Patsy had arthritis in a bad way. Emily Fariss Joekel told AnnieMarie Joekel Walthall that I. J. Fariss helped his grandmother with firewood and other chores around her house in Giddings, because of thearthritis. He was almost 19 when she died.
Patsy Nan Herell Horn was deliberately named for her.
