Note: Zola Jean (McGuire) Moss passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at her home in Sutherlin. OR, after a very courageous battle against cancer. She was born on May 15, 1930 in Pratt, Ripley, Missouri to Don & Beulah (Shipman) McGuire.
She married the Love of Her Life, Bill J. Moss on March 24, 1946 in Drumright, OK. They spent 62 years together enjoying Life, Love and Family. She was a Lifetime Member of Eastern Star #91 in Oakland, Serving as Worthy Matron 1980-81. After retiring in 1982 they traveled all over the country, visiting 49 of the states. They enjoyed researching and sharing their Family Genealogy. They were some of the earliest members of the SKP Travel Club, becoming Life Members in 1984.
The real joy of her life was her family. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren unconditionally. She made each one feel as though they were the most important part of her life. She was a very strong woman and she instilled strength, values and self worth in each of them. She was herself an only child. She shared an enduring friendship with Marilyn Hilditch and her husband Dan. She considered Marilyn her “sister” in her heart.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bill Her children, Terry Moss of Fontana, CA and Kathy Moss of Roseburg, OR. Her Grandchildren, Jeanette (Christopher) McCurdy of Stillwater, MN., Tracy (Jack) VanDolah of Roseburg, OR., Jay (Louise) Moss of Corona, CA., Jeanie (Jim) Oliphant of Dunlap, Il., Jennifer Paisano of Fontana, CA., and Brandon (Erika) Moss of Highland, CA Her Great-Grandchildren, Brandilyn, Lindsay, Spencer, Taylor, DJ, Abbey, Cooper, Brody, Rowan, Colin, Jack, Richard & Tina. Many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Carla in 1959 and her great-grandson, JR in 2000.
