  The Gray family lived in Lanarkshikre, Scotland. The Grays were interested in coal mining, farming and manufacture of cotton. The Lanark Cotton Mills were owned by one branch of the family and when one of the owners died he left no children, but $8000.00 went to the nearest relative. The Chapel Collieries were also owned by another branch.
