Note: Lived on Lot 18, Concession 13, Dawn Township. Came to Canada with the rest of his family in 1861. Lived in Dawn Township with a family (possibly relatives) by the name of McDonald until they had a house built. I have a few letters written to Norman McLennan 1873 - early 1900's A few clues from these letters: His brother Donald went to the Owen Sound area....Mom thought Bognor, Grey County Norman in his 20s went to work in the lumber camps in Gunnison, Colorado He had a friend from the Florence area - Charlie Graham - He worked in Gunnison Colorado as well as Bay City, Michigan in lumber camps His cousin, John McKay, travelled quite a bit as letters are from Gunnison, Eureka, Greenwood & Denver - all in Colorado as well as New Mexico, Tombstone Arizona, San Fransisco California. He was also fishingvoff the Grand Banks of Newfoundland and also Wreck Cove, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Another cousin was Roderick McDonald. His father was named Finlay or Findlay and he had a sister Sarah and a brother John. Roderick's brother John worked on the Northern Belle a ship that carried supplies between Collingwood and Sault Ste. Marie. His Brother, Donald had a daughter Annie & a son named John. Annie McLennan worked at the City Hotel in Owen Sound and also in Prince Arthur's Landing (THunder Bay) One letter from her is giving condolences on the passing of Norman's sister Margaret MCLennan in 1878. Annie states that she has been working away from home since July and she mentions her brother John McLennan. Another letter from talks about Norman's sister Mary Ann McLennan Sinclair and that her young son had died recently at about a year and a half old---David Donald Sinclair was born March 12, 1877 and died September 18, 1878.
