Note: George Michael left Hampstead Parish, Queens County and moved to St. George Parish, Charlotte County, whew on April 20, 1839, he purchased 250 acres of land. He married Mary Ann French on August 10, They had a daughter they named Charlotte. Mary Ann died in 1845. George Michael moved to Saginaw, Michigan in 1851. He was one of the first residents of the city. Huge amounts of virgin white pine drew people to that area. Gearoge Michael worked in the lumber business and also was a carpenter. George's second marriage was to Elizabeth Davis who was born in Pennsylvania. When she was eight years old her parents moved to New York then in 1846, moved to Detroit, Michigan. In 1847, they moved to Saginaw. After George and Elizabeth married they owned a farm at the corner of Sixth and Lapeer Avenues, which was later platted out in city lots. In 1876, they moved to their farm in Buena Vista where they lived until their deaths. They are both buried in Brady Hill Cemetery, the first Saginaw City Cemetery, originally in Buena Vista but when the city lines changed, it was then in Saginaw.' In the 1870 Saginaw County, Michigan census George is listed with his wife Elizabeth and children Bertha & Fred. He is listed as a ship carpenter. Brady Hill Cemetery - Block 2G, Lot 69, Space 4
