Note: When he was 17, his father sent him money for his usual expenses and instead of spending it as he should, he purchased a broadcloth suit (the epitome of excellence) ran away and started out to "see the world and make his fortune" The fortune was never made but he travelled all over the United States and to Cuba. We know that William was in Bridgewater in the 1870 Census records where he appeared as being 20 years of age. We believe William worked as a Fireman in Boston at some juncture in his early years. How he got to Arkansas is not known and how he met our Grandmother is not known but William Morton Ricker and Allie Tygary were married and had 2 children. Written by Nan Smith, September 30, 2001
