Note: ren. No children are mentioned in Oscar's 1916 obituary. Just who the parents of this set of three children might be remains to be seen. They remain in the database pending further research. Further research has quickly shown (just a few minutes after the above determination was made!) that these three children are actually those of Alvin Hedden Whitehead and Julia Coles Leggett. Earl Leggett was incorrect, but close. The children actually belong to Oscar's sister, Julia. 19 Nov 2002

An 1860's Victorian Rococo sofa (triple-arched, of rosewood) was owned by Hattie, and was donated to the Oakland County Pioneer & Histroical Society by her daughter Mrs. Elizabeth Duffield and son Robert C. Utter. It can be seen in the hallway of the Gov. Moses Wisner home at Pine Grove in Pontiac.
Being of 1860's vintage, it may have initially been owned by Hattie's parents, or even perhaps her grandparents the Samuel M. Leggett's or Almeron W. Whitehead's...
