I tried to call the same person in San Antonio last night...got a cell phone referral but did not leave a message. A Dorothy S. with a daughter Joan. I hope she gives you time as I THINK I called a few years ago and the woman who answered wanted no part of me. The Chandler in Duluth was, of course, my grandfather and went by "Chan." We called him "Daddy Chan." I lived with them from 1940-42.
If Dorothy talks to you, and cooperates genealogically...let her know I exist. Also, I would like to get a lead on Mortimer, Jr.s family. I believe he was adopted, but I do not know whether or not he married and had children.
I also hope Dorothy will at least give you the name of the cemetery where Hunt and Nannie are buried.
I have Nannie b. 25 July 1886 and. May 1967.
I have Elisa Randall b. 30 July 1890, d. 20 Sept 1978 in El Paso...if I have the right Elisa Stukes Randall.
We just put oldest daughter Sarah on the plane for Boston. She is "Sister Sarah" of St. Margaret's Convent (Episcopal), a Yale grad in French. She taught 10 years in Chatham, VA before going to Boston 3 years ago. LAST NIGHT, I showed her a picture of her being held as a baby by Sargent Shriver!!! And then you mention the Shrivers (Eunice) today.
